On a cold, windy morning in early July 2012, Alan and I boarded the Disney Wonder cruise ship and journeyed up through the Inside Passage toward Alaska. We were on our honeymoon, filled with joyful anticipation about all that the future had in store for us - creating a life together, buying our first home, having a family. But first, the breathtaking wilderness of Alaska was ours to discover.
